West Lake Tohopekaliga

Florida bass fishing on West Lake Tohopekaliga ” Lake Toho” this summer has been very active in the morning hours. Good numbers of Florida bass can be caught during the early morning feeding frenzy that happens everyday from 6:00 to 9:30 am. This summer has been one of the most active summers on recent record. Wild shiners and artificial lures have been producing well. Summer Lake Conditions

Lake Conditions: Water temperatures range from the mid-80s to the upper 80s. Over the winter and spring months, the lake levels are gradually lowered about 2 ½ feet to prevent possible flooding conditions during our summer rainy season. As the water level is lowered, the bass move out to open water hydrilla fields, where large numbers of bass congregate in groups. When the bass relocate to this deeper water, we relocate, too. No need now to catch one fish here and another over there. We anchor our boat in or near the hydrilla beds and catch good numbers of fish […]

Winter forecast 2014

Winter Forecast: January, February and March: Winter is in full swing. If you get the right conditions, Toho can be one of the best lakes in the country. Before a cold front, they are usually in the low 60s. After the front passes, they tend to dip into the 50s. On some occasions, water temperatures even rise into the 70s.
