Lake Toho Winter Fishing Forecast

The winter time here in Florida is widely regarded as the best time to catch that monster bass that you’ve been looking for, and it without a doubt is. More bass over 10-pounds are caught on Orlando’s Lake Toho in the winter time than any other time of year. The picture above showcases just some of the trophy bass that we caught last January, February, and March. And I don’t doubt that we’ll beat that number this year. Last year we had some unstable weather with hurricane Irma hitting us in the fall. This year the weather has been a […]

Lake Toho July Fishing Report

The bass fishing on Lake Toho here in Central Florida this summer has been as good as it ever gets. The State of Florida and Corps of Engineers has lowered the lake levels this summer an extra foot further than they usually do for summer pool levels. In total the lake is three and a half feet down from it’s winter time pool level. These low water levels in the lake have forced the bass out of the maidencane grass fields into open areas of the lake and on the edges of the grass. This has caused the fish to […]

A Day for the Record Books

This year the spring bass fishing here on Lake Toho has been absolutely phenomenal. Because of the lower than average water levels a majority of the bass have congregated on outside grass edges and offshore vegetation and brushpiles in massive schools. Which has lead to some of the best fishing this lake has ever seen. Whether it’s been a live bait trip or artificials we have had some fantastic day’s these past 2 months. But one trip that our Captain Dumas did just two day’s ago with 3 clients was extra special. They all went out expecting it to be […]

Hurricane Irma’s affects on the future of Orlando’s Lake Toho

This is Captain Jackson owner and operator of AJ’s Freelancer Bass Guide service with a short update post hurricane Irma. If you haven’t seen our first update the Orlando fishing has become very active since the hurricane. It was actually a benefit to the lake and the Corp of engineers in the state of Florida have opened the locks up dumping water out of all the lakes which has created fast moving water down by the locks at the South end of the lake. The Orlando bass fishing has become extremely active in these areas of moving water with great […]

Florida bass fishing report on Toho

Florida bass fishing on Lake Toho has been fast and furious. Today I had a client that was here in Central Florida on vacation with his family from England. He fished a 4 hour guide trip with us and caught over 15 bass by 9:30 am and probably had close to 30 bites. His name was Allen and he fished by himself so he was one busy bass fisherman. A couple of times he had two bass on at the same time! Before he could get one bass in the net, another was on the other rod. We even caught […]

Great early fall Toho fishing

The bass fishing on West Lake Toho today was hot and heavy. Today’s trip was a reunion of three friends that grew up together. I heard lots of story’s from there high school days, and plenty of jokes. It was a good day of comradery and bass action. These 3 friends caught over 15 bass weighing anywhere from 2 to 7 1/2 pounds and only a couple were under 3 pounds, with around another 15 being missed that makes around 30 […]
