10 pound lake toho bass

May Lake Toho Fishing Report

This has been one of the best years we’ve had fishing Lake Toho. We caught an absolute boat load of 8-12 pound bass this winter and it just keeps continuing. The core of engineers has lowered the lake to it’s low pool (which they do every year at this time to simulate the dry season) but with all the offshore hydrilla that is in the lake the fish have moved out into it and the bite has remained strong. And that’s where they’re at right now, the summer offshore bite is in full effect and the big girls are holed […]

December Lake Toho Fishing Report

The bass fishing on Toho remains solid as we move closer to the peak winter time spawn in January, February, and March. Fish continue to constantly chase shad and shiners around feeding up for the upcoming months where they will be at their biggest. They’re already getting fat, really fat, and not because they’re filling up with eggs but because they’re filling up with so much bait! They’re all beginning to weigh more and more. We continue to be averaging catching 20- 30 on our 4 hour trips, and on our longer trips some days well over 40 bass on […]

Triple up of lake toho bass

November Lake Toho fishing report

It’s finally time, the fall feeding bonanza has swung into full effect! And it’s far better than I would’ve expected. The last few cold fronts we’ve had have turned on a feeding frenzy! So much so that on our shiner trips we’ve had to recommend extra bait because we’ve been running out early. And for artificials, the topwater bite has been the best it has been all year. Since the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission) has been leaving much greater amounts of hydrilla in the lake we’ve seen a fish population explosion over the last year. But no other time has […]

The Drive to Make a Living Fishing

It all started one day on a little aluminum john boat on the Upper Potomac river in Maryland. Where my dad took me fishing, it was my first ever time. Little me stood eagerly waiting with a nightcrawler. Not knowing what I was going to catch and that my life was about to be changed forever. After a little wait my line tugged, not knowing what it was I began to reel and hooked into the fish. It pulled so hard it began to take the rod out of my hands and my dad rushed over to help me. With […]

Awesome day bass fishing lake toho

July Lake Toho fishing report

It’s been one of the best years of fishing we’ve ever seen so far on Orlando’s Lake Toho. Never have I seen the lake as a whole fish so well. I mean there’s so many different areas you can catch fish in right now it’s crazy. Usually with our team of guides we have to fish around each other in certain areas to keep people on good fish, but with the lake being absolutely on fire like it is right now, we are all spread out through the lake fishing different spots and slaying them all the same! Lake Toho […]

Lake Toho giant bass

July Lake Toho fishing report

It’s the middle of the summer and we’re in what I believe is the secret best big bass time of year. While it is widely known that the best time to catch big bass in Florida is during the winter when things cool down. Nearly everyone I know who lives here has caught their BIGGEST during the summer, including myself. All between June-September. We catch a lot of 8-10 pound bass in the winter but it always seems like the heat of the summer is when the ones over 10 pounds are caught. All of the lakes 3 biggest bass […]

giant lake toho bass

August Lake Toho fishing report

Because the FWC has halted the use of chemicals to kill off unwanted grass the lake as a whole is in a much better state than it has been in a long time. Healthy grass can be seen all over the lake and even healthier bass are being caught. As long as the FWC can keep the invasive hydrilla from over taking the lake with their hydrilla harvesters the lake should be producing record numbers of bass in the coming years! Rain, rain, and more rain has pretty much described the weather we’ve had. But luckily the rain has been […]

Winter Lake Toho fishing forecast

Lake Toho Winter Fishing Forecast

The winter time here in Florida is widely regarded as the best time to catch that monster bass that you’ve been looking for, and it without a doubt is. More bass over 10-pounds are caught on Orlando’s Lake Toho in the winter time than any other time of year. The picture above showcases just some of the trophy bass that we caught last January, February, and March. And I don’t doubt that we’ll beat that number this year. Last year we had some unstable weather with hurricane Irma hitting us in the fall. This year the weather has been a […]

October Lake Toho Fishing Report

It’s the Fall and we’re in a transition period here in Orlando Florida. The day’s are getting cooler and as always at this time of year the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commision) has begun to spray and kill off the hydrilla in Lake Toho. Now you may be wondering why would they do this? Well it’s not without good reason. Hydrilla in Lake Toho during the summer here in Florida grows extremely fast. Up to 2 inches a day in some cases. While it is great for the fishing it tends to overrun portions of the lake, like bass spawning flats […]

Lake Toho bass fishing smash down

Feeding frenzy! Lake Toho News Flash!

Bass fishing on Lake Toho post hurricane Irma has been unbelievably productive. The hurricane did nothing but help the bass fishing become as active as I’ve seen it in over a decade. The key to this fast action is the high water levels. The state of Florida and the department of engineers are dumping water from one lake to the next. So even though they have the locks wide-open on Lake Toho the water level is staying up higher than we’ve seen in years. East Lake Toho is being dumped into West Lake Toho and West Lake Toho is being […]
